Major Causes for Depression
Mental Assault:
Factors that disturb mental peace and not allow the person to lead a normal life, can be defined as mental assault. Constant family dispute, the pressure to do something you don’t want to, or any kind of situation making you restless forms mental assault.
Psychologically a person intends to frighten, control over you or isolate you socially.
The mental harassment law in India is that you can seek help in dealing with such a situation is defined in Chapter XXA of I.P.C. under Sec. 498A.
The abuser can be your spouse, romantic partner, parents and caretakers.
Physical Assault:
Any kind of physical harm, unwanted physical contact, threat to do so, or attempts to get physical are physical assaults.
If someone attacks, fights, hits, bites, bruises, injures you in family, in the workplace, in-home or public places, this is physical assault. Physical Assault is considered as the major cause of depression as it shakes the victim to the soul.
Trauma:
Trauma is a disordered psychic or behavioral state resulting from severe mental or emotional stress or physical injury.
Emotional and psychological trauma can be caused by both some specific and ongoing events. A specific event would be something like an accident, natural disaster, or an attack. On-going trauma can be the outcome of relentless stressful events, such as childhood sexual, emotional, or physical abuse, or living in a threatful neighborhood where you never feel safe.
If an individual has any kind of trauma, it troubles life, actions, interests, and habits as well. It can be resulted in depression soon or after the incident.
Heartbreak:
Heartbreak is a factor found pretty common for depression. Heartbreaks are never easy. The end of a relationship can flip your world upside down and triggers the world of your emotions. Some people get over these heartbreaks very easily while others don’t. People who don’t get over this, get depressed.
Sadness and outbreak of emotions are normal after a heartbreak but if it persists for a couple of weeks, it can also result in depression.
Financial loss:
When people experience financial loss it can be because of job loss, business loss, property loss or else, it becomes matters of concern for the whole family but an individual leading the family would be affected precisely. These losses bring fear for the future, sadness, glooms, and uncertainty.
Sometimes the emotions after these losses become the reason for depression.
Illness history:
Once in a while, people accidentally get physically disabled. Other times they diagnosed with some long-term disease. This physical disability or long-term disease makes them dependent on others. Being dependent, alone, and isolated bring them to sadness. If this sadness doesn’t end up, it soon results in depression.
Death of someone dear:
The sudden death of someone close and dear is very painful. However, life and birth cannot be controlled still people get shook with the sudden death of some family member or loved one.
This tragedy delivers so much pain that the person gets depressed and doesn’t want to believe the reality. Thus far from reality individuals left with depression.
Tensed family Environment:
A tensed family environment is inbuilt with a family dispute, aggression, violence, and arrogant behavior.
The family environment is an important part of the upbringing of the new generation and family progress including the health of each member. But some people don’t know the ethics of a healthy environment. They develop such a tense and hectic environment in the family that other family members develop depression unknowingly. In such kinds of families, most of the time this disease called depression remains untreated.
Indebted:
Hereditary debt or financial loss makes people indebted. They feel helpless to get out of this and constant pressure to pay out all the debts leads to depression. Private loans, bank loans, EMIs, property loans, etc. are sufficient for turning someone indebted.
Expectations:
The expectation is strong hopes or beliefs that something good will happen or that you will get something you want. When expectations don’t meet their destination, people develop malaise around them and start believing as if nothing gonna change. This is a kind of an uncomfortable feeling that something is wrong and you cannot improve the situation.
How can one come out of Depression?
Keep Yourself Busy:
The first step moving out of depression is to keep yourself busy with the activities you love to do. It’s difficult in beginning but possible. At the very beginning of your efforts coming out of it, this moment feels almost okay and the next moment you again feel sad. But don’t you worry this happens because of mood swings which are pretty common in depression. Your efforts would take a few days only to bring you out of depression if you keep making yourself busy the way you love most.
Bury your Past:
Until you bury your past, you won’t be strong enough to fight this disease. Memories, incidents, and people with bad experiences would trouble you and your thoughts each and every moment. It doesn’t matter you doing something or not but your mind remains busy all the time with those harsh memories. The mind controls all our body functions so the first thing to do is to reset our brain to make ourselves worth living. Bury all those worse memories, incidents, and people and delete them intelligently from your brain disc.
Stop Expecting:
Expecting someone to make our life better is actually foolish. It’s normal with human nature to expect but if it’s exerting you deep in depression it’s not normal at all.
We can think, understand, make decisions, and get the job done then there are no reasons expecting something to make us affected so harshly. So stop expecting to do your jobs on your own and be an optimist rather than a depressed person.
Be Your Own Master:
While leading your life take some of your decision by yourself. Don’t make yourself completely dependent on others for all of your life steps. Take over the authority of yours and be your own master for your important decisions. Don’t remain silent all the time, answer sometimes when it’s needed. These things give you existence and status to live a better life ahead. Once you start feeling alive, it simply means you have defeated depression.
Follow Your Dreams:
Depression makes people so ignorant of their dreams that they leave them for no reason. Never forsake your dreams for anything and anyone. Your dreams are not worth burying for any stupid situation or person. Dreams are something that gives energy, hopes, and reasons to live. If you have surrendered chasing your dreams, grasp them again to be alive. Your dreams will help you come out of depression magically.
Make yourself fallen in love with you:
Love got powers to do miracles. It blossoms, fragrances, colors, and gives height. Love is also capable to remove depression as well. The most amazing thing is that you don’t need someone other to love you. You are yourself able to fill your life with the world’s most beautiful emotion called love. Love yourself, adore yourself, appreciate yourself, strengthen yourself and this will bring you above of all. Give yourself most of your time and identify your hidden strength to bring best out of you.
Stay Close to Your Appreciators:
When you are already suffering from some kind of hectic depression, never stay with the persons who criticize you most of the time. You can easily make differences between the persons who criticize and appreciate you. Stay close with your appreciators to make you feel good because they will help you find out the several qualities in you. Once you realize the qualities in you, you will sum up that you are not a burden on someone and not worthless at all. This makes you feel great and not depressed anymore.
Stay Close to Your Loved Ones:
Loved ones are the accelerator for your life and Accelerators give speed. On the other hand, depression fixes you at some point in life, thought, or incident. So to get out of that pause you need to accelerate your life which can possibly be done with your loved ones. Never leave them and stay near them cuz you need them and they need you.
Consult A Doctor:
We have suggested several ways to get over depression. You will definitely feel better after making them applicable. But if you still don’t feel coordinating with them, you should definitely rush a psychologist. Only a psychologist can cure our mind overburdened with negativity.
You visit a paediatric for kids, a cardiologist for heart, and so on. Then why not a psychologist for your depression? This is not something you should hesitate, hide or ignore despite you should be concerned about your mental health just like you concerned about your physical health. A Psychologist would listen to your experiences and challenges and would medicate you to control your chemical imbalance because of depression. Once you start advised medication your mind would stop releasing those negative chemicals. Your physic would also be benefitted from body pain, less energy, excessive or poor sleep, a poor appetite which has been the result of depression.
If depression goes untreated?
After recognizing signs of depression seeking help for this condition can lower the risk of complications. If left untreated, you may rely on alcohol or drugs to numb emotional pain. Depression also takes a peal on your physical health.
Moreover, chronic stress can weaken your immune system and make you more liable to infections and illnesses. Emotional eating can cause excessive weight gain and increase your risk for heart disease and diabetes as well as panic attacks, hard time at home, work or school, and suicide thoughts.
Small talk:
No person or no reason is capable to make you feel deadly. The choice is all yours, you can set a living example for your entire society or can be no one. You have got life and a chance to live so why dying every day, lets live beautifully and proudly as long as you live.
